A WOMAN has been killed after she was hit by a truck in Sydney.
Police say the woman, who has yet to be formally identified, was struck as she tried to cross Wentworth Avenue, near the intersection of Sutherland Street, in Mascot just before 5pm on Thursday.
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.
I took Bus 410 to Eastgardens this evening from Mascot Around 6:00 pm , I was browsing on my phone when one of the passenger sittings on the back seat tapped on my shoulder and asked where is the driver taking this Bus, and I was quite surprised with the question and I looked outside to find out and the bus was on totally different route from what Buses 400 and 410 normally takes to go to Eastgardens. I was worried in case the driver is new and has missed the Left turn on Botany road .
I approached the bus driver and asked him if he knows where he is going and as this is not the right route for his Bus , he replied by saying Yes for sure I know where I am going and he added as someone has decided to kill them self today there is nothing he can do other then taking this route... as the main road is closed after this incident .
I was totally shocked with his reply and it is really sad that when everyone is going home after finishing work someone will never make it home.
I switched on the TV as soon as I came home and there was a news on Channel 9 about the young women age 25 has passed away in the accident near Mascot today.
