Akanksha suicide: Family to release posters of accused

The parents of deceased Akanksha Malhotra (30), an Apeejay school teacher, who had committed suicide and had alleged that was being tortured by her in-laws, came up with the posters of three accused who are on the run, mentioning them as wanted by police, which they plan to put up across the city.

We have got the posters printed of three absconding accused - father in-law, Sudhir Malhotra, mother in-law, Renu Malhotra and sister in-law, Kanika Malhotra - and urged people to inform about them". said, father of Akanksha, Subhash Padam.
He further said that as the cops have failed to arrest the rest of the accused, it was important to put pressure on the police administration so that they can speed up the search operation to nab the culprits. "The posters will be pasted at different locations in Jalandhar on Saturday with the help of school students."

"Besides putting pressure on the police, the posters will also make difficult for accused to hide. It will expose the family which harassed my daughter, forcing her to take the extreme step," he said.
Padam said the students and other members of Apeejay school will also hold a rally outside the house of accused in Seth Hukumchand colony on Saturday. The rally will start at 4 pm from colony park.
Meanwhile, it has also come to fore that deceased teacher had sent SMSes to one of her student in which she did mention about the harassment done by her in-laws.
The SMSes will prove as good evidence against all the accused in the case, said sources. Akanksha had also talked about the harassment with her sister during a chat, who lives in US.
The police have already arrested Pujan Malhotra, husband of deceased teacher, but all other accused are still at large.
Meanwhile victim's father had alleged that accused had managed to escape due to police negligence. Kanika managed to escape from the house the day Akanksha went missing, while her father and mother went missing from a private hospital on August 18 where both were admitted after they complained of health problem.
The Jalandhar police and Pathankot police have been passing the buck on each other.
